We found your children by the tavern door with wooden buttons and an apple core, playing house and telling everyone you drowned.

Things that I have recently grown fond of:

1) Cheap black olives. Like the kind that comes out of a can.

2) Jugendstil, the Weiner Werkstätte, and the Vienna Seccession. If I wasn't so far into this Renaissance thing, I would probably consider changing my specialist.

3) The Bloor theatre for its old, art deco theatre design, $4 admission, cheap popcorn combos, and having Dr. Pepper on their soda fountain.

4) Tristan in the tiny sweater that Kim bought him. Notice his likeness to Josh Ritter.

5) Oh yes, and Iron & Wine. Trapeze swingers, the salty breeze, Bougainvillea seeds, broken bows across long lost violins...the man is from another time.

Does anyone remeber baby Jessica, the one who fell down the pipe in the ground? I was only five when they made that tv movie about her but there are a few things from it which I remember very clearly: the screaming mother, the odd-looking balding father, and the rescuer in the tunnel. You know who plays the father? Will Oldham! As in Bonnie Prince Billy / Palace. Weird. Here's a picture for reference.
