There are names across the sea, only now I do believe.

Glen Hansard is making a movie. About a busker, early thirties, who meets a eastern European girl who convinces him to do something with his life. Written by him and friends. Scored by him and DAMIEN RICE.Hmmmmm.....
If you don't see what I'm getting at, this movie is obviously about himself and possibly his child-bride from Prague. Kim laughs at me when I call her this but she really can't be much older than I am. She started playing keyboards for his solo shows and now she's in every picture I see of him and then he moves to Prague for some reason?
His role in The Commitments was not exactly a shimmering performance and consisted mostly of standing with his mouth agape. Oh and being thrown on the floor by three women. He's older now so I expect things will go a lot better.
I would have taken this as all talk but people have seen him filming in Dublin over the last few days. And really, it would never be released here anyway unless Damien Rice's involvement somehow sparks some interest in the US. He did gain some publicity as Renee Zellwegger's "shoulder to cry on" or whatever it was the press called him.
Speaking of movies, I really liked (parts of) the Door in the Floor. Mostly the parts with Jeff Bridges in the very Klimt-like dress. Also the part where he's signing his children's books and asks for a pen with red ink. "red like blood, not like a fire engine". Has anyone seen this movie and know what I'm talking about?
And also, everyone has to go see Pride & Prejudice. Me and Kim saw it twice in two days. Seriously.
Lissa, Josh Ritter will be in your fine city on Sunday. Yes, to run the marathon.
