Give this string to my mother. It pulled the baby teeth she keeps inside the drawer.

I called my mother yesterday and before I could even get a word in she screeched if I had watched Oprah. No I had not. Leonardo DiCaprio was on and talking about global warming and the ice caps melting and how our world is going to be drastically different by 2050. She took down notes to discuss. My mother does not normally take notes on environmental issues, or any issue for that matter, so you can imagine the gravity of this situation. Of course, this topic has been discussed many a times on those five hour trips between Toronto and Ottawa. But no, she only listens when Leonardo has something to say about it.My heart is fluttering just a little bit for this boy:

Yeah his favourite band is, are you ready, The Frames. My god, a male Frames fan that is not forty years old, drunk and Irish, and asking my sister out for a pint. This happens at every Frames show by the way. Him asking for a recording of the show turned into emails of our life stories. He basically likes every band I like and has been to every show I've been to and will probably be at every show I go to in the future. So we'll see what happens.
Oh Kim, did I mention that the day after the show there was a shooting at Sherbourne/Bloor? A drug deal went wrong and the two sides started shooting at eachother in the middle of traffic. It was in the middle of the afternoon. This is the street that I walked up to find a taxi in the middle of the night with a Nikon hanging off my arm. And didn't Jason walk to this subway station to get home?
Thank you United States for smuggling so many guns over our borders (an estimated 50% of the total amount in circulation) that our city has become the most dangerous it has ever been. Where you hear gunfire in the house next door to your apartment and four year olds get shot in drive-by shootings.
