The first time I saw you in the half-light of dawn, afloat like a ship in the mist of the 401. The next time I saw you were Yonge Street in the evening.

Tuesday was Fembots at Soundscapes (we love Soundscapes for their hot sales boys, ticket with hardly any service charge, and their Americana section which includes all Josh Ritter albums). They don't play eerie bayou-esque music anymore which is good because it scared me. Their new record is about Toronto and easier to listen to.

After this, Kim slept over and in the brief time she was in my apartment she managed to clog my sink with hair snippets from trimming her bangs. Nice.

I went back to Oshawa with her because I agreed to go to help her paint her bathroom. Painting her bathroom turned into me unpacking 2/3 of her boxes while she sat on hold with Bell Canada. It will be a lot nicer once she paints everything. It also included an unsuccessful trip to find her a hamster. She wants to steal the name I like for her hamster - Marta. As in Frank's 'Jesus and the Weather' composition in Angela's Ashes: "... the Mary Magdalen and her sister Mart[h]a..." H taken away by his lovely Irish accent.

Speaking of Irish accents. I finally saw Mark Geary's brother Karl in Sex and the City. It's when Samantha is drunk and asks Charlotte's doorman for a cigarette and then opens her coat and she's only wearing various underthings, brings him upstairs to Charlotte's apartment who later wakes up to find him half-naked in her hallway on the way to the bathroom. He says "let me get the door for you miss" (ha!). Yes, that man is one of Mark Geary's nine siblings.

There's a picture for reference. He's pretty.

I have an interview at Booster Juice tonight. I'm nervous but I really need a job and I really like Booster Juice. I also need to stop making transactions with the Bank of Kim.
